0007 Keturunan Qusai bin Kilab (The descendants of Qusai bin Kilab)

Qusai mempunyai 3 anak lelaki.

English

Qusai had 3 sons.  His first son’s name was Abdul Dar, the second; Abdul Manaf and the third and last, Abdul Uzza.  Later on, Qusai passed his important government positions in Mecca to Abdul Dar, his first son and Abdul Dar in turn passed those to his children, consequently later, further down to his descendants.

This monopoly unsurprisingly caused dissatisfaction among his brothers.  Nevertheless, due to Abdul Manaf’s extraordinary wit, he managed to pry the positions from his elder brother’s family.

When Abdul Manaf died, the important government posts were, given to his four sons, and further later, when Abu Talib was the leader for the Bani Hasyim clan, the posts were fairly divided between all of the prominent Quraisy families, namely, the Bani Hasyim, the Bani Umayyah, the Bani Makhzum, the Bani Sahum, the Bani Jamuh, the Bani Taim, the Bani Adi, the Bani Zuhrah, the Bani Asad and the Bani Naufal.

According to Maulana Syed Abdul Hasan Ali an-Nadwi, author of the book ‘Riwayat Hidup Rasulullah s.a.w.’, the 10 families mentioned above were the descendants of Qusai bin Kilab.

However, how true was it that the Bani Taim and the Bani Adi were also the descendants of Qusai bin Kilab?
